CAN A BUTTERFLY CRY?

Flying round in circles like a butterfly
They stop a while to say hello, then say goodbye.
You know I just can't take it, now I'm all through.
But there's one thing I've got to ask of you:

Can a butterfly cry,
Keep a lovey dovey sigh,
Bring a tear to her eye,
When you say goodbye?
Can a butterfly cry?
Can a butterfly cry?
Can't she even have a try?
She can't flutter or fly,
When you say goodbye.
Can a butterfly cry?

I can see you fly from flower to flower,
Lovely as a rainbow in a shower.
When the shower's over, the rainbow dies.
Does it leave the teardrop in your eyes?

Can a butterfly cry,
Keep a lovey dovey sigh,
Bring a tear to her eye,
When you say goodbye?
Can a butterfly cry?
Can a butterfly cry?
Can't she even have a try?
She can't flutter or fly,
When you say goodbye.
Can a butterfly cry?

La la la la la la,
La la la la la la,
La la la la la la,
La la la la la la.
Can a butterfly cry?
La la la la la la,
La la la la la la,
La la la la la la,
La la la la la la.
Can a butterfly cry?
